Collaborative assignment for the week of 2/21/11

Hello all,
This week students are working as a class to create a class website. Here students will share what they are learning as well as share their thoughts and interests regarding Georgia Studies. The class website will be primarily for our class to share what they are learning with other 8th grade GA Studies classes in our school, as well as other schools throughout the county. This is a great way for students to take responsibility of their learning and to be able to share it with others. I encourage parents to check our class website and see our learning progress! I will post a link to the site as soon as possible!-Ms. Epperson

Technology in our classroom

Hello all,
An important goal for my Georgia Studies class is to successfully integrate technology into our lessons. Technology has become an essential aspect of our modern world and it is my belief that students should be exposed to it throughout their learning experience. Technology can be as basic as conducting research on the interent, but it should always be used in a way that adds enrichment to the established curriculum. This year students will have numerous opportunities to learn through the use of technology. Students will be required to participate in the class blog and will have many in-class assignments that incorporate technology. Both parents and students: please share your thoughts on technology incorporation in the classroom with myself and one another through this blog!
